That might work at some sorting offices. However at many it will not because the mail is machine read. A first class stamp has a different marking from a second class.

What country are you talking about?? In the US there is no 2nd class stamps. A stamps postage value is not determined by the size of the stamp. Also in US, your dvd can be shipped '1st class' or 'media mail' not 2nd class which is dated magazines and newspapers.

If you're in the US, there is no such thing as a second class stamp. There is no such thing as second class mail. What used to be called second class is now 'periodical'. Newspapers or magazines, and they do not use stamps. You can mail a periodical using stamps, but they are traveling at the first class rate.
Just go buy some first class stamps. Of course, if you're outside the US, none of what I said applies.

2nd class - 24p, 1st class - 31p.
so 2 seconds more than a first.
even if you use 2 seconds I dont think they recognise it as a first.

They equal more than a first class but don't expect any better service, they will be delivered as 1st class. If they are delivered at all with this postal strike.

No, as it is worth more. You put extra stamps on for extra weight. They will look at is as a hevier letter.
