As mentioned you go to the web-site of the printer manufacture and find "Support" there usually many drivers listed, choose the one for your printer and OS (Windows 98, Vista whatever) put it in a folder and read the instructions on the web-site. Some may be double click to install. My old Panasonic I put the driver in a folder, plug up he printer, turn on and a box open tell me what to do. I usually have to show/find the folder with the driver and it install.

Every printer manufacturer provides the software and manuals for their printers on their websites. Go to the manufacturer's website, do a search by model name, and you will find the driver software you need to download so you can install the printer.

Do you know what plug it is? LPT or USB? Find out the plug and then plug that into your computer. After that it will tell you whether it already has the drivers. If it doesn't than you need to find out what kind of printer it is and go to their website to look for the drivers. You will also need to know what operating system is running on your computer as that will affect which drivers you download. After you download them, install them and test the product to see if it works.
