I have Windows XP Home Addiiton and use Internet Explorer 7.0. My computer has been very slow, especiall at start up. After a while instead of opening my sites, I will ge that page that says "Internet Explorer Cannot Display This Web Page". I have a cable company and my ISP. I tried a lot of different troubleshooting tips. I do not want to call the cable company because they will have me on hold forever and a day. Any suggestions???

Go to add/remove programs and remove IE7. It will revert back to IE6 with all your settings. IE7 has a lot of issues with it that have not been worked out yet.

Sounds like you need some maintenance done, pal.

Click Start, select Run.. type in "msconfig" (without the ")

Click the startup tab to the right of the box that pops up. Uncheck any and all programs that DO NOT need to startup with your computer. This will speed things up when you start your computer up. Now, if you uncheck something then reboot, then get an error message regarding it.. recheck it and go into that programs settings and keep in from starting up with windows.

Other than that.. do some basic cleaning.. disc cleanup, disk defragmenter, a possible registry cleaner.. (Ace Utilities works great). If this still doesn't work, shoot me an email and I'll help you out.
