A grand total of $180 and did ZERO work. Didn't even take out the garbage once. Yesterday I threw all his stuff out on the driveway and he still hasn't gotten it yet. He was only supposed to be staying there a few days in the beginning and then it turned into excuse after excuse. I found one of his pay stubs and realized that he's been full of **** this whole time and probably saving money. He didn't even buy groceries once in 11 weeks.

So am I right about this or what? Thoughts?

"Nobody can take advantage without consent"

Hi,

I think that you are clealry very upset by what happened, and possibly did what we all did and acted out of anger and not necessarily compassion. Whilst none of us like being taken advantage of, we do need to take into account what the person causing our misery is going through. Are there personal problems? Whilst his behaviour is unacceptable and you should not live with him, he must have issues to just leave his posessions on the driveway. I would have a chat... he must have been your friend once, and they are so hard to keep...

If you had consulted a lawyer, you might have done it differently. As it is, he may be able to sue you if his stuff is missing or damaged. You may be able to counterclaim for payment in lieu of rent, but chances are you either said you wouldn't charge him rent or said nothing about rent. No one can take advantage of you without your consent.
