It should only take you around 15 minutes ,if the soil is reasonably easy to dig . Personally ,id use a combination of fork and spade. In fact you could have dug it already if you hadn't of been pratting about on your computer. !!! .

what i normally do is i just buy a new shovel and wear gloves to keep your fingers warm ( i find that best you see). it also speeds things up if you have motivation like a like sole music (always geets me going). i am proper strong because i come from a farm you see and i could probably do it in 45minutes but doubt you can. have fun digging!

1 yard x 1 yard = 9 sq feet. 3 yards x 9 sq feet = 81 cu feet As someone else explained, there is no dirt in a hole! These 81 cu ft of dirt WERE where the hole is now.
