In a way, sure I see where that might be good. But I am an only child, as is my son. I was taken to 5 star restaurants, Broadway plays, operas, other more adult oriented activities starting at a very young age. My son, the same thing. I wanted him to experience culture and refinement along with playing in the mud. Explaining to him there is a time and place for silliness and fun, then there is a time and place to behave and act responsibly. I think it has made both of far more well rounded people with experiences at young ages some people don't have even at middle age. However, there are plenty of other restaurants that do allow under 18. So if this one decides 18 and over only, that's fine. Maybe that would be a great decompression date night for husbands and wives. When you want to take your child, even a 17 year old, out for sushi or whatever else, there are plenty of other restaurants available. So while I don't ever want to see ALL restaurants go to this idea, it's fine to have some like that.

New ban? Um as far as I knew it has been a law for many years that you had to be 18 to buy and smoke cigarettes. Where do you live at? I am sure my daughter will wanna move that way lol

i dont smoke but i know that this ban is bad due to the fact that in england you could smoke from the age of 16, now there will be hundreds of kids between the ages 16-18 that are adicted to fags and will do anything to get them, i think it will increase crime ( robbery) and will make more angry teenagers

you mean in the UK ? it recently went up from 16 to 18

to be honest I know longer smoke nor am I under 18 sooo....

but I suppose any restriction on peoples rights like that is not good really, even if it is in the name of health.

at least it's still 18 to drink here and not 21 eh, less time for you to wait at least.

What new ban? It's always been illegal for under 18 to have cigarettes.

i wasnt aware of a new ban. it has always been that people under 18 were not supposed to smoke. and they really shouldnt either because it is a very bad and hard habit to one day try to break.

It's a nightmare. I reckon a load of people will quit teaching now they can't send the kids out to buy their fags for them at break-time.
