I want to record my voice for the purpose of voice-over opportunities and want to know if a regular microphone will allow for this. So far I haven't been able to get sound from my computer. Is there something I need to do to get the computer to recognize this microphone? Thanks.

You can use a regular microphone as long as you have the 'mini-jack' converter so you can plug it into your PC's mic jack.

They cost around $5 at your local walmart.

Computer mics require a polarising voltage which is supplied by the sound card. Microphones that are not designed for the computer may also be the wrong impedance.

it could be on your sound card, that's interior the pc, no longer the video demonstrate! it relatively is build onto the motherboard, yet in the two case the jack would be on the decrease back of your pc. as quickly because it relatively is plugged in, you would be able to could desire to pass to sound settings and turn the mic quantity up or un-examine the mute container, depending on what you love to do. Un-checking mute might supply you comments. each and every so often it works to pass away it on mute, yet became up, and recording utility will nonetheless get the sound, through fact the mute container purely mutes it from popping out of your audio gadget as you communicate into it, no longer from classes getting the sound. do no longer hear to the moron that stated plug it into your no longer undemanding tension. it is greater ridiculous than the video demonstrate. no longer undemanding drives basically keep information and can require commencing the computer. somebody is attempting to clutter with you there. Edit: the guy under me is asserting CPU, it is worse than no longer undemanding tension. The CPU is basically the pentium or athlon or maybe though chip that does the calculating (CPU = important processing unit), it plugs into to motherboard, no longer something can plug into it, the motherboard handles each and every thing that flows in and out of it.
