There was a big article in the newspaper over the weekend about fewer young people getting married than ever before. Of all the reasons given, no one mentioned the existence of gay marriage. Isn't that supposed to be the number one, if not the only, threat to traditional marriage in this country?

Just for the record, it seems that gays are the only ones taking marriage seriously these days, even fighting for the right to marry.

There is no threat to traditional marriage in America, or, "this country". All marriage done in the traditional way; in a church, with a pastor/priest, with bridesmaides/best men, friends and family is considered a "traditional wedding". Who the bride-bride, bride-groom, or groom-groom are, it makes no difference. The gender of those getting married shouldn't and doesn't affect the traditional(ness) of a marriage.

Those who think so are absolute fools.

LOL...that's fabulous.

Our threat to the institution of marriage...yea, we're a big threat!
If Gay Marriage was a threat and more gays are getting married, shouldn't that have had some positive effect on the decline of marriage in general?

We will never be equal as long as we are marginalized.

:-)

To be honest most straight people can barely make their marriages work out as it is so i think gay marriage isn't really the BIGGEST threat to traditional marriages.

It's amazing that they decided to leave out one of the most taboo topics in america, and then we're upset about it?
I dont think so. You should be happy that they didn't quote gay marriage as a threat, that means this country is one step closer to understanding love is blind and gender doesnt matter

I want everyone to get married and pay the marriage penalty on the income tax. And get screwed on social security when retiring. And pay all the other penalties married people have to pay just to be married. Gay marriage - hell yes, bring it on. Suffer with the rest of us with the anti marriage government.

because people would go crazy if there was a mention of gay marriage and flood their system with hate mail - calling them liberals, and whatever else.
