I would happen to agree with you, but mostly only because most states have ALREADY voted on it.
There are nearly no states that don't already have some ruling on the marriage issue, although many states have left a back door open through the possibility of "Civil Unions."
Granted, I'm not particularly fond of this avenue, but it does give hope that maybe in future we can get DOMA repealed.
I think many states that have voted against same-sex marriage have done so ONLY because DOMA is in place.
I also think that the "religious-right" has infected the thinking of the average citizen to the point that they have all too successfully confused "Holy Matrimony" with "Legal Marriage" and people just don't know the difference.
States which have banned Same-Sex marriage but have NO ruling on Civil Unions:
Illlinois
Pennsylvania
Wisconsin
and many others
Here's a decent map image that shows the varience of laws across the country regarding Same-sex marriage, Civil Unions, Domestic partnerships, Reciprocal Benefits....

It is a State's right. There is no Federal law banning gay marriage. All the anti gay marriage referendums that passed were State initiatives. Do more homework next time before making a fool of yourself.
PS: Every state that had a referendum against gay marriage, passed it by a majority vote of the people.
Goes to show, you just can't trust the damned people to decide things. Give more power to the government and less to the people.

Considering the track record of when it is put to a public vote.
Nope.
What should be done is work on civil unions let people get use to that idea and than move on from there.
WI has a good model.
Pushing it through the courts will only cause a back fire like with abortion and we still are fighting that one.

I would say, ten percent. That's a lot, considering that the majority of the states already voted on it. What can I say? I'm an optimist!

I reckon more than that. Alot of people are more open minded than you think. Marraige is about love, not gender. However of course there are alot of annoying people out there in America :P. Im going to go with about 15%

The way I've heard it, every state that has voted on the issue so far has voted in favor of it, except one, Arizona.
