swimmers either wear full track suits, or just a shirt but with long track pants...why? the pool area is, a lot of times, heated...why the need?

It's not the temp of the pool they worry about, but the fact they're about to perform athletically. Properly "warming up" reduces risk of injuries such as cramps, strains, etc. It also puts the swimmer into his routine mindset, to generate a good performance.

muscles perform better when theyre warm, colder temperature stiffens the muscles

the reason why they wear full tracksuits is cos when they dive into a pool, no matter how warm the water may be, the first couple of seconds the water will feel like freezing cold cos your hitting the water with a big impact...i think lol i cant be too sure though

It's all about the muscles in this case. They want to stay loose for their events and by staying loose they won't get their muscles all tight resulting in slower times.

because if they don't their muscels will be stiff and they will not be able to swim as fast

if they don't warm up their legs might cramp...and drown if he can't handle it.
