Do you think the politicians running would be taken more seriously by the general American population (says this tongue planted firmly in cheek) if after the primary/conventions were over and party nominees decided, if one opted for Paris Hilton and the other Britney Spears as running mates? It is sad, but more Americans are concerned with who those two flakes are sleeping with than with what is going on in the world from either a liberal or conservative bent.

The reason for asking this question is that with the percentage of actual voters being so low, it is their demographic that the politicians are aiming for young, dumb and uninformed.....the "I voted for him/her because the suit fit so lovely......oh, they stand for something? Why? there weren't any chairs, or something, chaaaa......." (popping gum and twirling hair).

I think they're two different camps. Those who follow politics closely are not likely to be the same crowd that watches TMZ on a daily basis.

sadly this fine contury called america is full of fools who aer more concerend about when the new episode of thier favorite show is on rather than who their leader is but when there leader is bad cough*bush* they complain and riot even though they voted him back in office 2 times

It also has to do with the media, if the media would focus more on relevant issue as opposed to Hollywood, Hollywood would not be so popular.
