It was the Democrats that started early. They do not realize they are causing voter fatigue their idea was to win you over by brain washing you and using personal attacks against the right. They are to stupid to realize that the USA has evolved beyond that and are likely going to lose on the WE HATE BUSH campaign.
For one thing Bush isn't running nor is Cheney and the Vote Gore out legacy was based on Clinton criminality and Gores help to cover it up.
They are using the same strategy used to get Gore thrown out, except Cheney is not running. This means their logic is so skewed its like trying to hold sand in a sieve.

No, it's not just you. A lot of us are exasperated at a 2-year-long campaign.
There isn't much that can be done to stop people from campaigning whenever they want to. But I do believe that the country needs a constitutional amendment which would set down -- in stone, as it were -- a schedule for when states can hold primaries or caucuses. I like the idea of an amendment which stipulates that no state shall hold a primary or caucus before May 1 (of Leap Year), then only small states (1 or 2 seats in the House) can hold them in May, then medium-size states in June, and then the largest states last in July. That still leaves August for both parties to hold their superfluous national conventions.
Such an amendment does not stop someone from campaigning whenever they want to, but it might INSPIRE them to wait and to not start as early as they are now.

It's just you. It takes time for the political parties to select a leader and build consensus within their parties.
It's kind of an important job, and as the last two Presidential Elections prove, a poor choice yeilds poor results.
I tend to lean toward optimistic when I contemplate whether voters and leaders will respond more effectively now that things have become so much more critical than in the recent past.

You think this is bad! Just wait until all those stupid commercials and advertisings come on every other commercials and when the mail starts flooding the post office causing real mail to be delayed from post offices having all that junk mail! And the sad thing is I honestly do not see any worth candidate up there and to know I am going to be getting worthless crap from them starting around this time next year makes me wish it would be delayed all the more.
So stupid.

Way too early. The funny thing is I read a quote from a guy in NH that said Thompson got into it too late... How about the other ones got into it far too early.

What I am tired of is the assumption that it is all over but the primaries. Hello, we haven't even had the first primary yet and they, the pundits, are naming the winners.......

It's not just you! It has been going on for so long and I am so sick of this. We haven't even really started with the heavy mud-slinging. This election is going to be really nasty.
