An MBA is a graduate degree -- meaning you need to get a four year degee first (BS or BA).

It takes two years if you go full time. There is a lot of work -- but it in my opinion most of it is not that difficult. Much of the work is done in teams.

As for profits: If you can go to a highly ranked MBA program, then you can make more than $100,000 per year when you graduate. If you go to a program that is unranked, then the extra pay you earn will probably not cover the cost of tuition. In my opinion, an MBA isn't worth much unless you go to a highly ranked program.

There is one other thing you should know. The top programs want you to have four or five years of work experience before they will accept you. That means that you won't be starting your MBA for another ten or 11 years.

Dear Jot,
You are just in class 11 right now.
After completing your 12 you'll have to opt for a three year graduate degree, may be B.Com, BBA etc.

While doing that, you can prepare for MBA entrance examinations held for different institutes at different time.
When you clear those examinations, you get admission to a mba college.

The time required for studies for entrance exam varies from institute to institute. Better the institute, more is the time required for preparation.

MBA is TWO year post graduate degree program, which is now a days considered must to enter into most of the industries. If you have done mba from a very good institute, your salary package may be as high as 20-25 lakhs per annum or even higher.
