It's God trying to tell you not to desecrate such a beautiful creation as the BMW with cigarette smoke.
If needs must, change the fuse but he wont be pleased..

Theres probably a problem with the connection between the cigarette lighter and the battery. I suggest you take the car back to BMW to have it checked and repaired.

If the Interior coutesy light is'nt working as well..it's probably the fuse(as both are on the same circuit).
I think this is one little job that every driver should be able to do themselves.
You should look up the appropriate part in your owners manual,check the fuse and change if required.
If it blows the fuse again.....then take the car back to the dealer.

im my experience cheap quality cigarette lighter chargers (like cell phone, GPS) can blow the fuse in BMWs easily.

common problem is a bad fuse. but take it back to the dealers to complaint about it since you pay for a luxury car.
