Treu, like if I say that Iraq is an absolute failure of immense proportions. That's true. But the die hard conservatives will claim "the surge is working", which is a half truth. The surge is working to cut violence in areas where 90% of the people are of one religious group. The real problem is Sunnis versus Shia, and in the places where that *real* issue is raging, there is no progress. "The surge is working" to treat symptoms, not to solve the problem.

Depends on if it is true or whether it is your opinion disguised as fact which is often the case. People need to learn the difference between the two.
Oh and just because you read it in the NY Times doesnt make it fact

Define your 'true statements'
Most people can't really make many true statements about Iraq because they have NO real knowledge of what's going on over there.
Just because you saw it on TV, doesn't mean it's true.

Na, I say true things all the time about Iraq and I don't get labeled a liberal

Violence in Iraq is on a downward trend
Violence levels in Iraq are less than half of what they were last year
The surge is working and has caused major damage to Al Qaeda in Iraq.
The Armenian genocide bill will accomplish nothing and only disrupt our mission in Iraq

See? All true but I bet you wouldn't label me a liberal.

To some the truth is their enemy.

They will do anything to demonize those who dare to wave the truth in their face.
