Ball joints are like light bulbs, they are a replacement item only.
I might add that if you don't have the correct tools to do this I would take it in and have this done.
Some ball joints are bolted in, while the majority are pressed in, so you will need a tuning fork, or a ball joint tool, you are also going to need air tools.
After ball joints have been replace d it also a good idea to have an alinement done. Because ball joint hold on the spindal which holds on the tire a bad install job could result in the loss of the front tire.
So I would take it to a shop and have them fixed, they aren't that expensive to purchase. and it shouldn't take more then 1.5 hours per side to replace them, depending on the car.

They are very easy to replace yourself if you go to Auto Zone and borrow their tools to do the job. Every brand of car is slightly different and their computer will let you know exactly which tools are necessary.
If you'd have included exactly the year, make and model of your car we all could have been more specific. In any event go to Auto Zone and borrow a ball joint press kit and a Pitman arm press/puller. The kit consists of a series of sleeves that fit over the ball joint and a cap which push the ball joint free of the lower A arm.

You question is not clear wheather is the problem is in refill or in pen, if its the problem you can repair it by replacing the parts, if its the problem of refill just replace it.
