My husband is insisting for me to wear only cotton or natural fabrics only! This probably seems silly but it is driving me crazy because most of my wardrobe is not cotton! Not only that but we are just starting out and neither of us have enough money to go out and buy a new wardrobe for me. He has mentioned it at least three times in as many weeks! When I asked him the reason behind it he just told me it will be better for me! I don't know what his real reason is but this is so ridiculous to me! Does anyone else think this is strange?
Can anyone tell me the advantages of wearing only cotton clothing so that I can at least find some solid reason for following through with what he wants - since he can't give me one of his own?

I know this seems trivial to some of you...but it is driving me crazy because I am tired of him asking me about it...

Well he did tell me that he is a bit allergic to some stuff, but I asked him if this is the reason he is insisting on me wearing cotton and he said that had nothing to do with it... I just don't get it...

Step one in trying to control everything about you.
He can't give you a real reason because the real reason is he wants you to do what he wants...

Not to say that you have these kinds of issues, but here are a few reasons why he might be saying that: If you are having issues with body odor cotton breathes better, cotton stuff is generally cheaper, the last thing could be because most cotton made clothing covers a lot more of your body.... Maybe your husband is uncomfortable with how you dress when your not with him, My husband and I had to go over that at one point in time.. My advice to you is to calmly ask him to tell you why he feels you need to wear cotton and tell him you wont get upset, and then don't...Good luck!!

I would just tell him, that unless he can give me a clear reason why cotton is better, I'm not changing my wardrobe. He loved you when he knew most of your clothing wasn't cotton before the wedding, so he should still feel the same after the wedding.

ummm.. wow.. maybe it turns him on.lol. No seriously, did you ask him if he had allergys or something to other materials or maybe he doesnt like the feel of some material. I dont know what his oppession is with cotten. What does he wear? Money shouldnt have anything to do with it cause you can find cotten expensive and non cotten cheap in some places. I dont really get it. I think I would keep wear whatever it is that I want until he gives you a reasonable answer. My boyfriend loves to joke around in a serious way. It sounds like something he would say to tease me, Are you sure hes not pulling your leg? How long have you been together?

cotton breaths better and is actually better for your skin so there may be something to it and i dont really see a big deal he really isnt dictating what style you wear just that it is cotton so what the problem but i would like to know why the major fuss about it is

Umm the "insisting" thing would be the deal breaker for me. The only thing that I feel my husband has the right to "insist" of me is that I am faithful to my marriage vows and that we are honest with one another.
I would simply tell him has no right to "insist" on my attired period - despite what he may think is better for me. Can we say control freak?
