While we've talked about the upsets and victories, what 3 teams this year (to you) are the biggest disappointments in college football?

Mine top 3 are:

1. Arkansas - Having McFadden & Jones apparently equals mediocrity. Having a defense that can't stop the forward pass equals disaster.

2. Louisville - Apparently an experienced QB & a decent offensive line account for nothing. Losing to Syracuse & Utah speaks volumes.

3. Rice - With a WR (Jarrett Dillard) often compared to Randy Moss, and a QB (Chase Clement) coming off a 2006 campaign with 21 TDs & 5 INTs, you'd think the Owls might do well. Losing to Nichols State, Baylor, & Houston coupled with a coach who (in the Southern Mississippi game) passed on kicking a field goal to extend the lead before halftime shows that Rice can't capitalize on last year's momentum.

1. Arkansas- 'ol Coach Nutts days are numbered

2. UCLA- I thought they were a legit contender for the PAC10, they were held to 7 points by Utah and 6 points by Notre Dame, arguably the worst defense of a big name team.

3. The entire Big 10- Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of the guys on here constantly degrading the BIg 10, but you know as well as I do that this is the worst year for the Big 10 in a long long time. n Michigan may win it with a loss to a D1AA team... Or Ohio State who lost almost their entire team over the offseason.

Louisville is up there too, but I think the coaching change is the main problem, and they did just get past a fiery Cincinatti team.

I don't really think anyone had all that high of expectations for Rice. I was thinking about 5-7, or 6-6 for them.

Good question though man.

Of the three listed, I'd vote Auburn. Otherwise: Notre Dame led by Crew Cut Chuck The (6-4) Irish let a horrible (2-8) Syracuse come into South Bend and upset them 24-23?

The biggest disappointment in college football for years, but most apparent this year, is the BCS ranking system. There eventually will have to be a playoff system. If the National Championship game were tomorrow, it would be Ohio State and South Florida. Are you kidding me? I'd rather watch figure skating!! This was a rebuilding year for Ohio State. They chose Akron for their schedule because Akron is ranked 119th out of 119 teams. Ohio State's toughest opponent this season will be Michigan for God's sake. Now, is South Florida a good team? Absolutely! Would they beat a powerhouse like USC or LSU? No way! The BCS, driven by corporate sponsors, rewards teams that are in weak conferences and punishes the teams that are in strong conferences and canibalize each other. Do away with the BCS!!

Oklahoma allowing a 24-7 lead that was about to be a 31-7 lead slip away and losing to a very inspired Colorado team. Sure they had a lot of help from the refs, but OU should have won that game big - refs or no refs. They had obviously started looking towards Texas instead of finishing the game.

1. Georgia - losing to South Carolina, getting waxed by Tennessee and struggling to beat Vanderbilt should never happen to a team with as much talent as they have.
2. Texas - Not that I thought they were going to win the Big 12. They are just plain bad.
3. Virginia Tech - to this point although I think they will eventually win the ACC Coastal Division.

Louisville - their defense sets this program back 3 years. They are that bad of a defense. They were supposed to compete for a national title. You can't say that about Notre Dame.
