It happens all the time. It just isn't talked about so much because men that are abused feel ashamed that their spouses abuse them. Not only that, but there is a huge stigma against men that would strike a woman, so fighting back may not be an option.

The same reasons why a man bullies a woman! Because they can and their partner allows it!

If someone is truly a bully, it is in their nature to do so...and they look for weakness in others to exploit. If they are not called on it, and allowed to continue, it will become a way of life for them.

I'm sure there are all kinds of pseudo psychologists here who will give lots of reasons for why people bully - going back to their childhood and socialization. But like all other behaviors, I hold adults accountable for their actions. Stating that they act a certain way because of their childhood doesn't fly with me. Sure, there are extreme behaviors that would be the exception to this, but in general, anyone who can use the excuse of childhood is clearly thinking enough that they should know better. A simplistic attitude? Yep. But I think that we over analyze too much in our society, and slap labels on too many things, legitimizing and enabling the behavior.

Bullies come in all shapes, sizes, and sexes.
They bully because they can.
It should not be tolerated from a man or a woman or anyone else. The individual who is a bully has a psychological problem.

Some women are dominate and they not only bully the man but other women as well. Its a power issue. Some females have to be in power of everything. If they are not WOW stay clear.

Why not? Human nature in an inherent characteristic of both Men and Women. Deep inside Us all there is a primeval proclivity for violence and brutality. Self assertion and career based ambition are the modern manifestations of this phenomena.

Probably learned the behavior from the way her own mother treated her father... and then there is the problem of the man allowing this woman to bully him.

For the same reason a man bullies a woman: control. He should dump her and find someone who will treat him the way he deserves to be treated, i.e., special.

She is probably a control freak.
My sister in law is like this and it is disgusting to see and hear. She calls him all sorts of names, and humiliates him in front of others.
Whether it is a man or woman doing the bullying makes no difference. Why people allow themselves to be bullied is beyond me. My mate (her brother) tried that on me and learnt quick enough that was not going to fly.
I believe that if you have confidence and self respect you will never allow yourself to be bullied.

Women tend to bully men through manipulation and various forms of conniving behavior. Many women have a need to feel they are "in control", and so they bully men. Feminists are also bullies to men and non-feminist women. Feminists also bully other feminists to make sure the other feminists' minds stay shackled and contstricted in thought.

I dated one woman who was a bully. Glad I got out of that relationship.

I was always under the impression that she bullied not really for "control", but as a means of "testing" me to see my reaction. Personally I always believed that she actually WANTED me to go off on her. I never did. I was always cordial with her. Instead, I simply cut off the relationship. I don't have time for women that play childish games.
