its a 1200 watt "TQ" and it says tg1200 on it it starts gos well and powers my 1000 watt work light just find is running well then all of a sudden it dies and it dosent go back on until its cooled down or well after 15 minutes

As soon as it quits, I would check to see if it has spark. If it doesn't have spark I would suspect the ignition module. If it has spark I would suspect a fuel problem. Check the flow from the tank by removing the hose from the carburetor. If the flow is good you may have to remove the carburetor for cleaning. It is possible that the air vent in the gas cap is not working. Loosen the cap, make sure you don't create a fire hazard and see if that helps. Also make sure you open the fuel shut off valve all the way.

change the oil and add new fuel,clean the plug and air filter and try again. move the choke lever to full choke and snatch on that puppy
when it HITS move the choke lever to half way and yank some more.
when it RUNS move the choke to the OFF position. If it quits after 2 minutes replace the plug. if the new plug don't do it then the ceramic points filter is getting hot and stoping the spark replace the points.

Check also to see if you need to open a small vent on the gas cap. If air cannot enter as you burn fuel, the generator will stall out because it's starved for gas.

Check the oil. May be low.
Check and make sure the unit is not dirty and air can flow around it to cool it.
