Smile at him a lot be really nice, it's hard to yell at someone who is smiling at you. By the way, if you are that unhappy start looking for a new job, most people spend more time at work than at home, you should be happy where you work.
You may be suprised how much you can learn from this person, I had a boss that rode me all the time, I hated her, but the experience I gained from that job set me up for the next job I had I would thank her now for all the hell she put me through.

Well if he has a boss you could let them know your dilemma or you could start looking elsewhere for another job, not that it will be any better. I had them same situation and left my job only to start a job with some that was worse, I ending up leaving that job also. Or if you get up enough nerve you could ask to sit down one-on-one with them and say you don't like the tone they use when speaking with you.

Do you think it is this attitude is why your boss is rude to you?
It would be best for moral if you did quit the job. Go find out that the work force can be more demanding then having a stressed out boss.
Some day when you have kids and a family to support you will find out having such a boss is not your biggest problem.
Good Luck.....

Sometimes we decide that we don't like someone when they are trying to make us learn things or do things differently than how we want to do them. Maybe he's trying to get you to change the way you do something. Maybe he thinks there is something about you that doesn't fit in with the workplace or is appropriate for your position. I'd ask him directly, Hey, is there something about me you want me to change?
The answer he gives you will tell you whether or not it's worth sticking around. I mean, if he just gives you another rude answer back then you know he's not willing to work things out. If he is willing to work things out you'll know by his answer and you'll have the chance to learn something valuable. But if you can't learn and grow, because he's not interested in helping you, then leave for that reason, but not just because he's rude. You'll have to deal with rude people where every you go.

I just smile and do the best job that I can do...I'm not going to let rudeness get in the way and make me quit my job...I still need to pay my bills.
