Usually, we need something then go out and buy. Looks like you worked in reverse.

A lot of online shopping.

Research.

Occasionally volunteer for our local fire company and - in Excel - keep a datafile for various activities for which we need flyers, posters, labels, etc.

Periodically help my husband in his volunteer work by keeping his datafile, posters, flyers, notices, labels, etc.

Track my Mom's (in Excel) medical records, doctor visits, when paid, check number. Order her prescriptions online.

If you are not in school, therefore do not have to worry about research and homework, I'm sure you can perform some volunteer work for your church, hospital, etc.

Is this your only computer?

If so, then you can use your laptop for tracking your spending and budgetary needs, writing letters and emails.

If your laptop has wireless networking capability, then locate some access point - often McDonald's, coffee shops, and other "hangouts" provide free or limited cost access. Some public libraries also provide such access. Once you find a legit WiFi "hotspot" (access machine), you can then use your laptop to get on the internet, send emails, research information, work on hobbies, etc.

What you need to figure out is what you like to do, then ask around about how to use a computer in relationship to your specific interests.
