I really enjoyed FFXII. The battle system is great in every way. There are no more random encounters. You can equip any character with any weapon, as long as you unlock it on the License Board, and you can also do the same with Magick. The world is beautiful, the graphics are easily one of the best on the PS2. And this game has MANY hours of gameplay with all the sidequests and Hunts. My only complaint about this game is I would've liked to see a bit more character development. If you are a fan of the series, I highly recommend it. welllll its definitly has better graphics and the real time fighting style is pretty cool. the storyline kind of sucks though. it was a ok in length game. the characters were pretty decent. some of the magic was cool. esppecially renew. the dungens were alwsome. so were the creatures. the hunts in the game present a challenge to you eppecially without quickings. other than that its an ok game. 1-10. 1 being bad 10 being good
i give it a 7.

It was definitely an improvement over all the Sony-era FFs up to that point. Story was excellent, as it finally got away from the whiny emo "It's all about me" plot and actually made it about saving the world (instead of saving your love, which just happens to save the world as well). My only complaints are the random chest system, and the overload of sidequests that make it too long to complete everything.

the battle system is the unique feature of the game.. but wait for the next ff game its for the ps3..FFXIII there will be two editions of that game..the first will be FFXIII the hero will be a female version of cloud and unique battle system..and the 2nd one is FFXIII Versus and the hero is a boy...
