When I press the on button on the laptop it will sometimes turn on immediately but sometimes it won't. I could push down on the button and count to ten, then it will turn on(a few time)Usually it won't turn on at all. What is up with the laptop? Could it have a virus? The laptop is a Dell. It is about 4 years old.

I will BET you have a dell 600m (same as mine). This is a NOTORIOUS problem with this model. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, the motherboard's capacitors are dying just like everybody elses so you can try replacing the motherboard but why bother? Chances are it might just be another poorly manufactured motherboard.

I suggest you save up instead for another laptop.

Deleting all cookies should clear the problem. An enormous build up of cookies files is one of the main causes of this problem.
