I don't think the topic would matter as much as being able to listen to a really good speaker.
I have had the pleasure of listening to an amazing speaker go on at great length about his daughter. Normally you'd want to throttle the man, however he was clever, funny and intelligant and wove so much into the stories.
I have also had the pleasure of listening to a lecture on art given by someone with a hangover, zero charisma blah blah blah. I had a headache by the end of it.
