From Hell.. The Jack The Ripper one. It's not incredibly accurate but I still like it. I've read a few books about the Jack The Ripper case and the conspiracies surrounding it and I found the movie interesting.
An American Haunting is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Don't bother watching it.

The Amityville Horror was based on a true story but the actual fact was that it was just a fraud (although the movie doesn't mention it).

Ed Gein...His story was the inspiration for Pyscho & Texas Chainsaw Massacre. If you have IFC look for it on there this month.
Exorcist...It was based on a true story except it happened to a boy.

"The Amytyville Horror" even though the Lutz family admitted they made most of it up.
"The Exorcist" based on the novel which was based on the memoirs of the Vatican's real-life exorcist!
