I need help from ladies w/ PCOS who toke Metformin when ttc?

Hey I have pcos and my dr perscribe metformin to me, could u plz help me out with these (?) and by telling me a few of your testomonies thank you.

Does ladies with Pcos ovulates on Metforming alone?

If metformin gave you a reguler 28day cycle did that means I ovulated with it?

What does metformin does in AID to pcos?

How soon can you conceive of a metformin?

Since I've start taking metformin (2nd month) my cycles have been 29 days long, my AF usually last 7-9 days now its 5 days the max, but since it's helping my cycle to get reguler I wanted to no if it'll also help me ovulate. I have cycts on both of my ovaries and its making it difficult for me to ovulate, the reason y my dr say I am not ovulating is because my eggs aren't getting mature and my hormones and cycles are wack, so since my cycles are somewhat normal now do you think there is a chance that I may ovulate on metformin alone? I did clomid for 4 cycles and it didn't work for me.

If you are getting a period, your body is under the assumption that you have ovulated. Some women can ovulate on metformin alone, but you may not be one of the those lucky few. I never did ovulate by myself on met, I needed clomid to finish the deal.
Quite a few women who have Pcos are insulin resistant (pre-diabetes) which means your body can't use the insulin properly in your muscle mass and it then produces more insulin to get rid of what is already there, it is a vicious cycle.
Your red blood cells take insulin to muscle to be turned into glucose and used as fuel for your body, if you are insulin resistant you don't have as many insulin receptors in the blood cells and so you don't use the insulin as efficiently as you are supposed to. e.g. a red blood cell has 3 receptors, you take metformin and the red blood cell can now carry double or triple the amount of insulin and it is then used the way it is supposed to and your body doesn't over produce insulin to get rid of all the insulin that has flooded your body. Google insulin resistance and metformin and you might find a diagram somewhere to better explain how it works if you didn't understand the info.
The clomid can make your bleeding bit of the cycle shorter, I noticed that when I took clomid, but usually I bled for 7-8 days, on clomid i bled for 4-5, so it can have its advantages, lol

I took Metformin for my Type2 diabetes and they told me that if i was not wanting to get pregnant i better make sure i use other forms of protection because my Harmone levels rise SO yea, you might ovulate.I'm assuming that you mean Poly cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) .
