it's a good side to depend! parents are required to be updated and involved with their kids' education. Not all knowledge could be learned in school so for these matters, the parents have the power to enlighten their kids. And besides, there's no better perspective to something other than the first hand knowledge based on actual experiences.

Parents should be interested and involved in every aspect of their child's life. This not only shows the kid that they are loved and valued but also that what they are doing is important. Education is a large part of a child's life. A parent who doesn't show any interest in a child's education is telling the child that education isn't important. Children also don't have the life experience that adults have and therefore they don't have as much information to base decisions on. A parent should help their children in every big decision so that the child will be as prepared for the future as possible.

There are many different ways that parents can be involved. The most important is by maintaining an environment where education is encouraged and school is made a priority.

By being involved with their child's education, parents have the opportunity to supplement what they are learning at school with activities at home that can help re-enforce the lessons.

By being involved with their child's education, parents can know when their child is struggling and work with the teachers to get help in the form of tutors, study groups, extra homework time, medical help (in the case of ADD, vision problems, or learning disabilities).

I'm sorry I don't have any specific resources I can direct you to, but these thoughts should help you focus your research.

I don't have kids personally, but when I was growing up. My parents rarely ever paid any attention to my school work. It was put on me from the start. Needless to say I maintained a "C" to "B" average throughout school. When in actuallity, I really could have made an "A" in all my classes. I firmly believe that parents should be active in a child's schooling. I'm not saying that it's my parent's fault for that, I'm just saying that I would have excelled more if they had paid more attention to me.

Oh yes, definitely they should be involved with everything their child does. It gives them stability and self confidence and a closeness with the parent when they know that their parents genuinely care about them.

Well the fact that you cannot spell correctly should be one argument right there. Secondly, it is your parents responsibility to raise you not the state.

parents have more experience and hence they can help their children to not make the same mistakes that they themselves did at their childrens age
