If you were in charge of the world for one day....?

and you could do just three things to make the world a better place what would they be?

1) make people stay in their own countrys.
2) improve the nhs, housing and jobs to give us less fortune people a better life.
3) ban stupid laws like age limits etc, and make my own.

1. All Drug Companies can no longer patent TREATMENTS, only CURES.
2. US Republicans would immediately replace the poor kids fighting in Iraq right now. Maybe if a few of them get killed or have to get an artificial leg at the VA they will stop cutting VA's budget and sending kids to war for Oil Profits.
3. Health Insurance would be labelled exactly what it is: Health Insurance to Healthcare is like a Pimp to Prostitution, contributes nothing but raises prices so the Pimp can make a profit too. The US Healthcare industry would be nationalized and made NON PROFIT. People's sickness and injuries are nothing to make money off.

people are answering by saying... top animal cruelty, stop cruelty to childen etc. but you asked what would we do if we had power for a day... you never said we had superpowers.
i would change all countries laws to include capital puncishment. what ever people say about this it does make a difference to the way people behave. (i have lived in both types of environments and with capital punishment there really is LESS crime)
I would destroy all fast food/processed food factories and make them concentrate their efforts on either growing harvesting crops and animals too feed the nation or to do reserach into planet saving/preserving etc
lastly i would declare the world a globa village with all people free to move wheer ever they wish. hopefully this will stop the influx of immigrants to various reas and creat a balance economically (with places balancing one another out over time)

Well... I'd just need 3 wishes. I wouldn't need to be in charge of the world.

If to make it better, I would:
1 - Develop or wish that there was a cure for ALL forms of cancer
2 - Develop or wish that there was a cure for AIDS
3 - Completely eliminate any form of weapon whatsoever.. no guns, no knives, no cannons, no missiles, no nothing. If a man wanted to "harm" another man he'd have to throw rocks or just try to fight him with his bare hands. This would also change the whole "war on terror" concept.

OK, well for one thing all the money that is spent on warfare would go to the homeless - the money that's spent on space travel would be for the hungry - and i would definitely try to find them assholes who like to terrorize the world
