I do know the meaning of "the cream of the college crop."
But how about the "just around the corner"??
So what does the whole sentence mean???

I believe this means that with each new generation, people are getting smarter and smarter. So with each new generation that prepares to go to college, we are actually educating more intelligent individuals. And I don't think it's in our food supply ! lol

It means we have more colleges these days than fast food restaurants. And to beguile kids and their parents out of their hard earned money, we tell them all they are the "cream of the crop."

I would think that's a teacher saying Damn there has to be smarter kids then the ones that are sitting in front of me !
