Are we really all the stereotyped 'old gits' ?
It was only very recently that I discovered that I was an 'old git', my wife told me, (she is about the same age, 70).
" I remember when I was a lad"!!
That used to really annoy me when these old gits used to say that, and then continue with a load of cr*p!
Some of us do come out with the same cr*p, but there are a lot of us there to put them right, the 'good old days' were not really that good, this generation is better, a lot better.
I am willing to fight any man with a walking frame who thinks different! No walking sticks allowed!
Oh while I'm here one of your answers reminded me of a joke doing the rounds 'when I was a kid'
What is a mile long and smells of wee? A post office line on pension day! Not very nice thing to say is it??

Oi, I'm becoming an Old git, i'm 38. If the old gits in Switzerland are anything to go by, I'd say yes. The are so unbelivably fit (health wise) puts me to shame, however I don't think it is possible for me to be like them as I am still stuck in my 20's. I love being a child.

I have amitions and am preparing to become the most vile and distgusting old git that has ever lived.

I want to follow this example:

There was an old lady from Ealing
She had a perculiar feeling
She sat in a chair, with her legs in the air
And p***ed all over the ceiling.

(Ealing is a district of West London, famous for the film studios that produced the Ealing comedies in the fifties and sixties)

I believe that you eventually get to an age where you can do anything you want and everyone then just looks sympathetically upon you and says, 'poor old beggar, he can't help it.'

Who really knows if that old boy that runs out in to the street from the care home showing his bottom to the passing bus knows what he is doing!

At what age can I expect to become an old git?
Are you an old git?On a more serious note, I love Jenny Joseph's poem that begins
"When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple"
Do read it if you get a chance.
I find it very funny.

Go Ray T, here's another old git. Well passed his prime and grumpy as hell. Typical useless old fart except of course when the local kids have a computer problem. Can you get rid of this virus, why won't my router work, can you fit me a video card. I don't subscribe to the all kids are to**ers club I would never stereotype anyone on the basis of age, culture, or sexuality. Live and let live. Have a nice day Y'all.

I like to think that, in my old age, I have retained something of my individuality. I am a unique sort if git.

Gay people hate being stereotyped, so do we old (grits? say what!) I am both gay and old,79. And do you young folks ever have your facts wrong about we old f***s. There is nothing stereotype about me either as a gay man or as an old goat. I live in a senior apartment complex and believe, the folks here are nothing like what those answering here perceive us to be. For me, a month ago I became a Doctor of Metaphysics. Others here go to school. Make love (sex) shocking I know. Read books and go to the gym. Volunteer their former work skills, so on. What we do not do is party all night or hang out in bars etc. Fortunately in time you young folks will grow up and learn it's better to be productive than self indulgent. Not to worry, it's a lesson we had to learn also and most of us did. My wise advice to you young folks: Grow in mind and spirit. Know and love your inner self. be the best you, you can. This old grandfather loves you all.

I hope to enter a disreputable old age in due course. I am 73 now and still working hard on it but I have to admit I do run out of steam a bit quicker these days.
