I have a 2 week old baby boy, he sleeps really good during the day, eating every 3-4 hours, but it seems at night, he gets fussy and doesn't sleep as good as I would like...does anyone have any suggestions on how I may be able to change this? Or is this something he will just grow out of?

He is sleeping too much during the day time and you need to change his schedule and keep him awake later. Many new Borns are capable of sleeping for 5 hours at night when on the proper schedule. Mine did after patience and hard work and a little bit of a knock upside daddy's head.

This is a normal sleep pattern for babies. They sleep when we are awake, and awake when we want to sleep. If you can remember, the baby moved the most inside when you were laying down or sleeping. This becomes a form of habit after being born.
try keeping him awake longer during the day. and before you put him to bed at night, Put just a little bit of baby cereal in his bottle of milk. This will keep his tummy fuller longer, and usually will help him to sleep most the night.
Good luck! and congradulations on the new baby boy.

At that age, they have no idea of time. It sounds like he has his days and nights mixed up. This happened with my son. I asked the doctor and he said that it was a very common thing in infants. Think about it....when you were prego's during the day it was like the baby being in a swing...you were up and walking around, very soothing motions for a baby. and at night while you were sleeping you are still, and not moving as much....did you feel alot of movement from your baby more so at night? If so, this maybe why.
Don't worry...he'll get himself turned around....talk to your sons doctor, he/she might have a few suggestions.
Congrats on your little boy!

i went through this same thing. my son is now 6 months old.most babies do this. he will adjust to being on the outside and get into a routine of his own. give it time. i know it gets frustrating. with my son, he slept great during the day then at night he turned into a monster. have hubby or boyfriend give extra help at night time. i fed my son every 2-3 hours. u are doing great so just be patient. it does get better

Feed him every 2 to 3 hours between the hours of 600 am to 6pm, and then after tha tlet him wake you up throughout the night to eat. Keep him on a schedule and he'll pick it up before you know it.

You could start a bedtime routine even this early. Give him a bottle first then a bath, get him dressed in his pajamas. My daughter is 5 months, she starts getting grumpy around 8:30 p.m. half hour before bottle time and bath time. She will calm down after her bottle and bath. Make sure he burps good. If he has gas he will be miserable.

he is very young and needs to eat frequently. It can be frustrating but it will change. Sometimes it may seem like it is different from week to week. Try and have dad help out at night
