I have a pregnant guppy and have put her in what I like to call the "birthing cage", when should I take her out????

Let the pregnant guppy out as soon as she has had her babies otherwise she will eat them.

Do you know if she is close to giving birth?
Look for some signs of birth:

Keep her in the main tank till you think she is going to give birth. Then put her in your birthing cage. This will ensure she gives birth and is not stressed out for too long. This will take some practice to get used to telling when she is ready... If you fail the first time, I am sure she will be pregnant again real soon.

As soon as she has given birth to fry. Remove her as quickly as possible before she can eat them.

As soon as the baby fry are born you can remove the mother. the fry will eat on her own and should actually be seperated from the mother.
