They finally getting some offense going and now the defense is weakening. What's going on? Is it the injuries? Coaching? Talent? Or just psychologically spent from being so close last year?

They're simply a mediocre team this year. They're in last place in NFL's so-called "worst divison". Griese doesn't make them any better. If so, he would have impressed the coaches during camp and would have been the starter from the get go.
I predicted their loss to the Lions. They got a gift from Favre. They got roasted by the best runner in the NFC who lived up to his nickname, "All Day". In a nutshell:

Well I think they'll still make the playoffs but this season they have to stop the tradition of the team that loses in the Super Bowl(mostly a NFC team)they are terribly the next year.

Yes. They are cursed with players who are afraid to tackle and coaches to stubborn or stupid to adjust a game plan that is obviously not working.
