Why is Jennifer Connely not reprising her role as Betty in the new film?

According to www.imdb.com this is why...

Due to the disappointing performance of Hulk (2003), Marvel decided to start the franchise afresh with a totally new creative team and cast.

My question is, if it sucked that bad, why remake it at all?

No idea. I didn't actully see the first one because I thought the hulk himself looked awful and too cartoony. It's a shame because I think Eric Bana is a great actor. But the new one will have Edward Norton and Tim Roth, so I think it'll be good. Jennifer Connelly always comes across as a bland actress anyway. But she's married to Paul Bettany, so she's a lucky girl.

Jennifer Connely is not in it because I heard it's not a sequel but a completely new hulk, they're doing it because the first Hulk was dissappointing. I haven't seen it myself but I'm sure The new hulk will be great, it has Edward Norton in it!

Yeah Ed Norton is such a better role for the movie. I wish jesus would erase our minds of the first disaster.

I think its because the first was complete ***, that they want NO ONE from the first to return and cause it to flop as well.

Because getting it on with a big, green monster is scary.
