Happens so much unfortunately. Like the baby being dumped on the doorstep. Obviously these teens felt they had no other choice which is ridiculous because they are old enough to know better. There may be different options for them in the UK but as much as America is hated by other countries they could learn so much about the Safe Haven law so these kids can drop a child off at a safe place anonymously and legally without charges. You just wait...the post partum is going to come up like it always does. And I agree it is not an excuse. I would write a letter to your government officials asking them to look into a safe haven law for teens and young mothers. Many of these girls hide their pregnancies. My brothers stepdaughter was 16 never told mom she was pregnant. I saw her a week before she delivered and would have never guessed she was. Her mom found out her 16 year old was pregnant when she went into labor at home. You would think that we see this often enough that they would realize they are going to get found out. Maybe these news stories need to be shown in health class.

It is, sadly, not an uncommon story. We had a story like that a few years back in my hometown. Two teenagers, on prom night no less. She gave birth, ditched the baby, and they both went dancing afterward.

Ultimately, they got minimal time for it.

Now if it were two boys, as in the case of James Bulger, it would be all over the front pages of the press. I remember reading about Mary Bell (and an older teenager) but it wasn't front page news.

...... but why would they do it most people don't just go and kill people on a whim i'm not brought untill i hear reasons.
This better not be another cot death case cos its hard enough they lost the baby let alone to be acused of killing it!

inoccent until proven guilty

Jamie Bulger all over again - if they are guilty, it will be a few years behind bars and new identities. The UK doesn't do life behind bars.
