The Swiss...they just launder money for crooks, the Nazis, terrorist secret bank accounts. Then again, they don't have anything anybody wants...except chocolate.

Costa Rica is the prime example which was a shinning example of peace in a turbulent Central America during the 1980s eventhough it had banned its military completely. So, eventhough Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Panama were having insurrections, coups, and civil wars; Costa Rica was safe in that midst. That is saying something. Might not work for every country in every situation; but it has worked very well for one.

I don't think Canada had to fight to get peace nor did they have Indian wars. They fought in wars out of loyalty to England. The same would also be true of New Zealand. Old countries probably had to fight for their existence at some point in their history.

No, all countries are the result of war. Sweden and Switzerland became neutral only after suffering catastrophic military defeats abroad.
