oh sweet i know how you feel, at the beginning of my pregnancy i couldnt sleep... it was one of the reasons the doc signed me off work for a week, purely to help me rest.
The doctor gave me notes on what i could do to help, things like:
~ Use your bedroom as a sleeping room, dont go to bed and read for hours.
~ Have a warm bath before settling down on the sofa to relax for the evening, warm milky drinks help too.
~ Read till your ready to drop off, THEN, get into bed.
~ Make sure the bedroom is a comfortable temperature and you wont be waking too hot or too cold.
~ Also make sure you have plenty of fluids in you, dehydration can apparently cause a factor too.
It will pass, soon you will hit a phase where all you can do is sleep. I'm in my second trimester now, 23 weeks, where i am supposed to be full of energy but i only get an hour spurt of energy a day... if i'm lucky, else i just feel plain lazy lol.
God luck and get friends and family to help out where they can. Take some of the burden off yourself!

A cup of hot chamomile tea right before bed will help you sleep and not harm the baby in any way.

It will get better, I promise!! Trust me, 11 weeks after the birth you will be soooo tired, the way you feel now is nothing!!!!
Rest when you can - even if you are not sleeping and look after yourself. Good luck.
