i was really mollycoddled as a child and if i couldn`t get my own way i would say i am running away as long as it wasn`t dark. spoilt brat!

Yes I did when I was 9 years old. Mum and Dad were on honeymoon and my Grandma wouldn't let me do something so I packed a little bag with my dollys and dolly'c clothes, took two biscuits out the tin and a drink and off I went. I got to the top of the road and met a girl who told me a dark tale about a child abductor in the area (clever girl!). I turned round and went home and hadn't even been missed!

I run away when I was 8 because of the home life I had, I only run away from East London to Southend, spent the night on the beach with a friend whom run away with me, slept under a boat, got picked up by ther police in the morning stealing cakes from a bread delivery van.

I 'ran away' only once and have never been back...my Dad insisted that I would be back by I proved him wrong.
I, of course stacked the deck in my favor and was able to purchase a house (with an older brother) at age 17 and had a good paying job with no REAL bills at the time.
I was never spoiled but was raised properly by a Stern Father that challenged me in his own way and his insistance that I would be back was his way of saying "Good Luck".
He actually admited to it years later.

I,m 58 yr,s old and just this A.M. told wife I wsa going to run away , Only made it to the Coffy shop Had to back home I forgot to take my wallet with me , I,m back and playin on my comp . Go figure I,m spolled Old man Think I,ll stay foe awhile maybe take some spelling lessons LoL P/s Tks for the invite

Did runaway and hid out in some woods near my school for a few days where I built a little shelter and some girls brought me sandwiches and sweets but gave up and went home after stupidly believing someone who told me the police had me surrounded and were going to send dogs in!!LOL

i ran away when i was 3. got found in the late eveniong by the garen boy on the otherside of the local lake. oops :D
i had a school friend who threatened to run away and her mom offered to help her pack. she gave up after that

When i was a little kid my mother said i would have to get rid of my dog if i didn't start doing as i was told, so i packed his bowl and lead and a dress put them in a bag and went and i was determined i wasn't coming back (I went as far as my childminders across the road).

I ran away before, i got my few slices of bread and headed to the end of our back garden, when it started to get dark i decided to give my parents a second chance!

it is very common to tell the kids parents that they are running away. It seems like a scarey thing but it really isn't because like you said most kids aren't allowed to cross the street
