The lioness can't take the cubs on a hunt as it will be too dangerous for them. Lionesses don't have various baby-care options available to them. Lionesses don't have hire cars or sedatives.

The Lioness by nature leaves her cubs and hunt for food.The McCanns left their children through selfishness.They should have listened to mother nature, in the first place and not had any children if they couldn't be bothered with them for a week's FAMILY holiday.

1) Lioness has no choice they will starve.
2) Animals tend to become more self sufficient quicker than humans.
3) Humans have intellect and should know better than to place their children in unnecessary danger.
4) Most animals wouldn't go near a Lionesses territory perhaps Hyena's but there are much safer meals out there.

Parents are supposed to be intelligent. Logic states than a baby cannot escape from danger or even know how to. A lion cub has stronger survival instincts and is more self sufficient at an earlier age. Lion cubs don't stay with thier mums for 20 odd years do they.

a lioness, when living in group, leave their cubs with another lioness while they hunt, if they are not in a group, they take them with them.
