The first time you're heart is broken, it will subside. But you will NEVER forget it.
Sometimes, in the future, with the hype of the moment it will seem like you will forget, and you will carry on with everything. But in those moments, there is always silence, or that seemingly empty void that causes you to bring up those memories, and though it may be hurtful, you always have to remember; to have your heart broken, you would've fallen in love. Falling in love is one of the most amazing things that can happen (if it's reall though).
It's sometimes hard to forget the pain, but often we forget the sweetness first. Remember the sweetness, always remember the sweetness.

I'm not going to pretend it's going to subside all the time.
If you are a bit of a psycho path (you know who you are) it might even get worse some times. It depends on the person, it really does. I think for 1-5% of people, it will continue to hurt because they can't let go. However, for 95% of people, yes, it will subside. It will hurt less if you cut contact with the person.
I had a breakup with someone I really loved and it wouldn't hurt unless I was around him.
Good luck! I just hope you're smart enough to avoid what I did and not drunk dial them : D

It does! Although I know at the time, you can't possibly see how, but I promise you it does.
Infact, even though you may not believe it, the next person you meet will actually be far better than the one youa re dwelling on now, and you will look back and wonder why you were so hurt.
Chin up, try to say busy, and with time the pain will fade.

Jaded, it doesn't go away over night. It does take a long time, but it does happen. How long the hurt lasts is different for each person. I know it feels like it's never going to go away, but one day, you'll notice it didn't hurt as much any more.
If you are hurting, I am sorry for you.

I don't think the memories go away... but the hurt does fade. I try to regard the little ache I get at times as a lesson well learned. The time frame? Different for us all. You'll get there, my friend.
*hugs*

Time heals my dear. Go out with friends as you slowly forget the pain.

I went through a divorce and I can tell you that your heart will eventually heal over time. I can also tell you its no fun - but when you are ready love will find you again.
Good Luck!!!

The ache becomes less acute. But it never totally abates. Sorry.

Aww, this question is so sad. I would say that "time heals everything," but sometimes it just doesn't. Good luck to you.
