what about a box of luxury goodies like a food hamper did this for my nan one year as she did not have a lot of money for all the nice foods and she loved it.
Nice chocolate from Thortons, tin of buscuits from Marks and Spencers (they like that shop)etc she will love it.

Lol I have the same problem with my nan! A nice framed photo of you, a hamper, bird table/feeder, hanging basket/ plant tub, does she collect anything eg ornaments? Tickets to a theatre show, jigsaws. Just some of the things I've got my nan over the years. hope this helps!

tell me about it nans are awful to buy for , myn seems the same as yours and if you ask her what she wants its ive got every thing i want but she still makes the time to go out and find us something and sometimes her gifts can be very nice so it is nice to return the compliment so what im gonna do is give her money or a gift voucher then she can buy what she wants but i also buy her small things that i know that we all need like gloves scarf knickers tights , just so she has something to open. good luck

Get her something she likes to eat, fruit cake or take her out to a restaurant or spend quality time with her for Christmas. Most elderly people don't want anything for Christmas, because they already have everything they need, and other material things doesn't seem to matter to them anymore.

buy her something exciting for a change. why should the elderly only have slippers and smellies to look forward to at Christmas? ask her what she has always wanted to do, and arrange something special while you still have the chance.

OH COME ON -- excuse-me, it's a nice thought, but people [especially: the Media / advertising] shouldn't even mention Christmas, as a rule of thumb, before Hallowe'en...! Get back to me [so to speak] on Nov.1. ["Bah Humbug"?]

Would she do a jigsaw puzzle?

Has she ever or would she ever knit and/or do cross-stitch?
Maybe if you can do something like that or are willing to try. I know with cross-stitch you could quite easily get a small beginners kit.

Hmm, make her a small hamper for Christmas? You know, some foods you know she'll eat.
