As an Englishman who owns many major US based companies I feel I am in a position to ask this
Recently I have noticed that the Americans who frequent this site have become very nasty and bitter, often resorting to the use of uncouth language to get their point across.
The Americans that i own are the complete opposite to this, they are lovely, hard working(when pushed) and they never use bad language.I make it a policy to reward the Americans that i own for good behaviour(use of hot water,extra bedding etc) and therefore have very few problems.
Would this work with Americans on this site?

They are different in person but the guys here know they can get away with being rude because they are hidden by the relative anonymity of a computer.

Don't you think you're over-generalizing just a bit? We have 5 times as many people in America as you lot in England so there are probably more Yahoo! Answers Americans on here than you realize, some who may not even be bitter or nasty. Have you read every post by every American that frequents this site? Perhaps you just notice it more because you aren't fond of Americans. I mean, I get it-everyone hates us. Yawn. Maybe we swear more than other earthlings on this site, and maybe we don't, but that doesn't mean it is because we are necessarily being bitter or nasty. It is just words, you cannot tell what the tone is. Just for the record, I am not very fond of most Americans, either, but I try to give each individual a chance at first.

Hi Sidney - You are having a laugh aren't you. You have certainly got these people going OK.
I'm an Englishman and think the Americans are great people. The only time they become objectionable is when they get to become President.

We do love hot water and extra bedding, thats the only reason we got involved in WWII, to get some English hot water and extra bedding

and I agree with the person above that , if you were to ever come across people that are rude on here - they may be nice people but are rude because they have a computer to act as a security wall...
hmm you should have phrased this question better - you are going to get alot of **** for this...

In every population you would have good and bad people.
I think that in Europe a lot of people are associating American with Bush and its world domination policy. But America is not Bush and Bush is not the perfect example of most of the american citizen.
