I'm going to Vegas for the first time and we have decided to stay at a less expensive hotel, The Quality Inn, has anybody ever stayed there before? Is it true that Quality Inn offers a shuttle service to and from the LAS and also the Vegas strip? Is the shuttle service free? And do they have shuttles every hour or do we have to reserve for one? Thanks.

A list of "free" shuttles
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/transportation.cfm >click on, free shuttles, then the hotel(s) you're interested in, then LVA Map click here. This will give you all of the info on their free shuttle, times, locations, etc.

If you want to stay at a nice but inexpensive hotel try the El Cortez. Even though it's not on the above list of free hotel shuttles, they do have one, but, it only runs every other hour on the even hour from the EC to McCarran and you have to let them know the day before if you want a ride.

The EC tower rooms are very nice, the "Pavillion" rooms are okay(nothing special) just someplace clean to sleep, and you do have to walk up one flight of stairs to get to them. IMO they are actually more convenient than taking the elevator.

The only problem I have with the EC is "no in-room safe" - After the Golden Nugget the Tower rooms at the EC are the nicest & largest in downtown.

The Pavillion rooms "generally" run $30-$35 Sun/Thur the tower rooms are in the $40-$59 range.

You can also take the CAT bus from McCarran to downtown for $1.25. The best way to get DT from McCarran is to go to "Ground Level Transportation 0". Catch either the #108 Paradise or #109 Maryland Pkwy North bus, one or the other will stop frequently and take you to downtown in around 45 minutes(less time than you would wait to catch a taxi and then pay $20-$25). For the EC, get off at Fremont Street and walk one block East.

i would check with the hotel and ask re : shuttles .

i do not know where is the hotel you speak of. find out if they have a shuttle . if they do have a shuttle sometimes driver will take you extra places if you tip them .

can rental is pretty cheap there . but if you plan to spend a lot of time in the strip / parking is difficult and some places charge a fee to park in garage. better to taxi to and from where you want to go .

many hotels office shuttle services for free / also downtown there is a people mover machine in some parts

have a great time

What are you watching for? On the strip? Downtown Fremont St? Inexpensive? Best strip accommodations that probably extra costly: Caesars Palace, Paris, Venetian, Mandalay Bay Best off strip accommodations: Palms, Rio Fremont: Golden Nugget (has an high-quality new pool) Inexpensive: Imperial Palace (centrally placed at the strip), Harrah's, Sahara You do not always want a commute from the airport. There are plenty of cabs and any lodge you keep at on strip will likely be not more than a $10 cab fare.
