Why is Pelosi and democrats trying to put out troops in more of harms way by breaking ties with Turkey?

The US and Turkey has been long time allys and Nancy Pelosi and democrats are trying to pass a bill on the Armenian so-called genocides at a bad time, while at the same time we are allys with Germany whom also commited the same. What they are trying to do kill our troops because of politics. Turkey is a key logistics area for the US-Iraq war efforts where most needs of our military has safe passage and Turkey is the only muslim state that is also an ally in the Iraq war. What the hell is this democratic leadership trying to do, I can see that they will lose the presidency with all that they have been and is doing. I hope she knows better along with her collegues then to risk undue tension with Turkey and moreso our troops. She will be the demise of our troops because of her PERSONAL dislike for Bush. Even a middle school grade kid knows not to drop the tray of eggs or shot yourself in the foot when our Troops (our children) are in harms way already. What a sh--ithead!

I apologize for terming it as "so-called genocide" and yes it is a fact that it did happen. But, at the same time the timing of ti is suspious at it's best and she will hold any blood in her hands for doing so based on a political move. Once again I apologize for the term so-called I aws just caught uo in the anger at the moment of my posting and I have two son's there in the 3rd tour of duty and this enrages me. I did not word it that way out of disrepecvt to anyone Sorry for that.

If they believe their actions will help their political goals,then nothing is out of bounds as far as the Dems are concerned. Whether or not some soldiers are put at even higher risk,in order for them to gain ground politically,is not even a consideration for people like Pelosi.

That said,it is not a "so called genocide",it is a well documented historical fact.But the timing of this action is at best suspect.

History would be a good thing to look back at right now. I must agree with you on this. You are indeed correct. the democrats seem almost as if they are trying to push us toward a global war. They need to stop playing power trips(That includes Bush and Pelosi Both). If we are not careful we will be in a full out physical world war. Though i'm beginning to think that's what everyone wants. Believe you me when i say that if this goes bad, the war fought will not be conventional. You best figure on nuclear. The elections of 2006 were the light, all anyone really had to do was pay a little attention. It's about power and control of the masses to maintain their agenda. That and if president Bush was SO bad people, why wasn't he impeached immediately? And don't give me the excuse of he just has a short time left in office. That's bullshit. he and the new congress are locked at the hip when it comes to amnesty for "illegal" immigrants.

Germany has admitted the holocaust, apologized, and its in their history books.
Turkey never admitted they did a genocide, re-write history books and arrest anyone that talks about. They are still doing honor killings in Turkey. There is no freedom of speech in Turkey, its outlawed.

Maybe your not aware but the timing is not suspicious in any way. I have been following the Armenian Genocide Resolution for the past 16 years. It always comes up in Congress and then an excuse is made about why it cant passs, "its not a good time because of the war, the first Iraq war, before that it was the Soviet Union" If you do the research you will see the timing is not suspicious, its been coming up for the past 25 years. Its just all over the media for the first time in history which why its being talked about.

Armenian-Americans have been trying for the past 25 years for the US to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
Its recognized in countless other countries like Canada, Italy, Greece, France, Poland, etc.
Turkey is not apart of the European Parliment because they refuse to say the Armenian Genocide ever took place, also let me add they also killed other Christian races as well, Greeks and Assyrians.


Let me ask you,, why is America backing up a bunch of muslims who deny they comitted a jihad in 1915 to millions and deny and rewrite history books today?

It happened more than 90 years ago , did you know alot of the survivors of that genocide are still alive? They were children when the Turks raped their mothers and fathers in front of them, chopped their aunts and uncles into pieces, hung their brothers and sisters on crosses and then burned them alive. Leaving the survivors as orphans who alot wound up in orphanges in America in 1915.
Their still alive, don't you think the USA should recognize what happened to them while their still alive? Since they worked and payed taxes for nearly 100 years.?

Did you know its against the law in turkey for anyone to say the Armenian Genoicde happened. Its Penal Code 301 in Turkey. The punishment is jail. Famous journalist Hrant DInk was sent to jail for saying the Armenian Genocide happened then he was killed, his son has to serve 1 year in jail for saying the Armenian Genocide happened/

In turkey their history books are re-written stating the Armenian Genocide never happened. The country is teaching their people lies which is causing a dangerous situation..

Should the USA deny the Sept 11 attacks happened because Osama Bin Laden makes a good ally?

Should the US deny the Jewish Holocaust because it would make better relations with the President of Iran?

Don't you think its ironic the USA is allies with a country Turkey who is Muslim and comitted a JIHAD (genocide) to Christians -the Armenians who deny it ever even happened?

If Turkey is such a wonderful ally, why dont they just agree with the US and The European Union and say the genocide happened? Why threaten killing the kurds and then cutting off the US for something the whole world know they did?

This the same answer I gave a few minutes ago to a like question.The Dems realize that if they can make an enemy of Turkey and have them close our base there, it stops the supply lines to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a political move to try to disrupt the war. This way they can blame Turkey if we end up having to withdraw troops, instead of taking the political risk of cutting off funding like they did in Vietnam. Do you really believe the Dems are concerned with what happened there over 100 years ago. If that were the case we would all be paying reparations.

I started out thinking Pelosi was an out and out idiot for this move. I mean, really - do we need more enemies in the mideast? But after reading ohbrothe's response that it is a ploy to hasten the end of our aggression against Iraq, I'm going to have to reconsider and research the issue a bit more, because I am one thousand percent in favor of that.
