Bring my husband home to die. He was very sick to begin with, and had just been put into hospice care. He suffered a possible stroke in his sleep one night and I had to rely on the hospice program. They would not authorize any testing or treatment, so I had to make the decision of 1) losing the hospice support and have tests done, or 2) bring him home hoping for the best. I awoke to find him gone the next morning. I was full of guilt for a long time after that, regretting my decision, until they began contacting me for donations to support their program.

not tell my daughter she was gonna have to have a lumbar puncture on her next visit to her specialist doctor? Cos i knew she wouldnt go cos she'd be too frightened! The sickening thing is, i had to sit with her the whole time, she was in agony and the doctor couldnt even 'find the right place - a total waste of time and anguish!

I recently had to try to explain to my 9 yr old son why his dad is not in his life. Not due to death or anything but as a choice that his dad makes everyday not to talk to him, call him or see him.
It was a very humbling and emotional experience. I had to do this without using words that would degrade his dad to him.
