It's kinda sad. I mean look at it this way... how he ends his ODI career? Not at all in an impressive way -- blames all over-- comes under fire from PCB and the media!

then he tries to get 20 runs to become the highest test scorer ever in pakistan cricket and give pakistan a great victory in the second test but fails miserably... to top it all there are all kinds of news about a 'deal' between pcb and inzi to make him wind up his career in lieu of 10 million Rs.!

i really feel he had the potential to play for another year or two.. i mean look at brian lara... he's still playing!

what do you say?

i think you are forgetting about what a hard-hitting batsman he was. i also think you are forgetting that a 'lazy, unathletic, boring and dictatorship person' can not make the 2nd highest runs in pak cricket history nor can he be rated among all-time world's best players. nor can such a player have a batting average close to 50 (as you admit yourself). nor can such a 'dictator' cause an emotional stir in the team upon his last ODI or test. neither can such a 'bad influence' keep the team together unlike wasim, waqar, rashid latif or moin khan. bob woolmer's case is closed. scotland yard cudn't proved anything and now we see an arrogant pakistan-hater blame the great legend for the terrible crime! oh and i'm sorry to disappoint you but it didnt serve much as a distraction there... oh and dont go on that extremist thing again.. i think abu ghareb and all those US university killings show how the real 'terrorist' and the real 'extremists' are.

@Karan
wow.. thanks for showing us all how people in india feel about acclaimed legends like inzi.. and thanks for showing us how 'tolerant' and 'peace-loving' people across the border are.

i know it'd be wrong to make a generalization but people when will this hate speech end! most of the indians are nice but what about people like karan here?! this needs to end.. dont u think? can't we ever talk over cricket here w/o any hate speech!?

thanks for those views maxie and montie..

oh and thanks for the thoughts roshni and haider... and others who replied too...! Inzi will definitely live on in our hearts just like wasim and waqar.. the two W's got even worse farewell.. i mean they were the hereos of the '92 team too.. it's kinda sad and all.. i hope this anti-legend trend (as pointed out) ends soon... it's actually gonna discourage people!

I agree.

But it's just not Inzi, since the arrival of current government I have been looking at an anti-legend trend among PCB officials. As it is very clear that PCB has had history of accepting extremely strong military influence from a serving army officer presiding the board to his extremely untalented son pushed into the team.

Waseem had many powerful enemies because of his behaviour on and off the ground. However, he was the best bowler cricket ever produced. He was suddenly pushed into a corner and was forced to retire. Waqar was also pushed into a corner and was very clearly forced to retire. He was giving statements about his good fitness and his willingness to play cricket a few more years but nobody responded to him for long period; long enough to force him to retire when obviously he had energy and spirit to play a lot more.

It is obviously hurting such legends but what really worries me is the image of Pakistan. This kind of behaviour with cricketing legends (not to mention our nuclear hero AQ Khan) tells the world how we disgrace and insult our heroes. This creates an environment which discourages upcoming potential heroes. It is a perfect recipe for any nation's disaster.

Notable point is our cricketers are being forced to retire just when they are about to break an international record. I mean our army, which obviously is not working for us, is influencing our cricket in a way that hinders the progress of Pakistani records in favour of foreign records' safety and longevity.

it would be nice if he did get the runs to become the highest scorer but thats life .however as a west indian Inzi is a great contributor to packistan cricket an excellent batsman + fielder ,as to the world cup and england series (Hair incident) there's no merit to those to judge him by I think he has done himself and his country Proud Great innings INZI well Played

yeah..he has had a sad ending to his career...it seems as pcb obliged him by allowing him 2 play a test..but dats not gud..he's a great player and could have easily played 10-15 test matches...nd his career from odis was ova..coz...he had served enough for pakistan n he was already 37...but i guess he could hve easily played test cricket for a year or so...dats a sad ending for a flamboyant cricketer...in both forms of da game hu has served his nation for a long tym..

It does not depends upon the last performance of the player , he is too be looked by his overall perfomance in the one or test matches.

no it was a fitting end to lazy, unathletic, boring and dictatorship person! he came back just to break personal records and it didnt happen, im glad it didnt happen because if personal records are all that he cares about, then cricket dont need idiots like him in the cricket world! i hate inzamam and i dont have any respect for that lazy prick! and im glad his batting average slipped below 50! he is a bad influence to that paki team! and i also believe he had something to do with the murder of bob woolmer! and yes he was murdered, dont give me this crap about natural death! im sure a paki did it, and a player had some indirect part in that killing! and my guess is inzamam had a role! the death might have been used as a distraction from the shameful paki exit from the world cup! the pakis are extremist people and no doubt one of those paki terrorists did it!

Its sad ki Pcb and media has treated him very badly.......... but yaar they are very few of them ( PCB= 1000 ppl.......and media= 1000pll)
but we all love him " we= billion ppl"
so if few ppl cant see his greatness it not important.......
and we have to see his record's and they tell us the truth........we dont need those PCB or MEdia to tell who is gr8
and if he as potential to play for it's up him to decide .........

and yaar Imp thing........... Karan is not equal to India.......
he may be west indian or he may be from pak or from austriala.......if someone has some Hindu name he does not represent INDIA.......... and if someone has Muslime name is does not mean he is pak....or iran ........ ur doing the same mistake as ur captain did in the final ..........he was saying sorry to all Muslimes!!!!!!!!!!!!
he forgot pathan, zaheer, yusuf,,,,, they to are Muslime's they are Indian's .........
i wonder what he would have said if the match was between iran and pak.( i mean between to Islamist country's)............ hahhaahh.........ppl are really funny
