The bacon financed story was a cover up, the truth is that Rory was much rasher. He financed the building of this fabled "New Elsinore" love nest on exclusive Canvey Island entirely from his private finances, a risk he has never been know to have taken before.

Unfortunately, the passion between the pair has cooled dramatically and these days the Princess can be seen at midnight wandering the ramparts of the building muttering, "Alas, poor Rory .. .. ..".

Yes, that is correct.

Purchase of the property, at £17.5 million, was financed almost entirely by Rory from advance payment for his amazing "bacon tree" technology which he sold to the Danish government.

Pictures of a bacon tree sapling were accidentally leaked on purpose (by Rory himself) to the press recently.

While to an untrained eye photographs of this wonder may look like an IKEA potted plant with strips of raw bacon crudely attached with duct tape, Rory claims that when full grown the tree will yield more bacon than 32,000 pigs.

He also owns a flying pig with Michael Jackson's nose, which is currently housed in the Elizabeth Taylor wing of the palace.

Yes, the first answer has it right - Rory recently purchased the property for 17.5 million pounds, which in US currency would be about $35 million. However, due to the aforementioned bacon tree, the property is believed to be worth over $50 million!

Excellent Question!!
