Mozart was a composer during the "classical period" of music who lived from 1756 to 1791. He composed music in nearly every musical genre with over 600 works. His music was inventive and of high quality and is considered by many as the epitome of the classical style. He influenced the compositions of Hummel and of Beethoven. He was the one most responsible for the development and popularization of the piano concerto.
