The Aussies deserve a lot more respect than your question suggests you are willing to part with.
They are world class. You should be counting your blessings that they don't actually play that much rugby. The ARL and AFL get more than there fare share of Aussie talent, if they played the one code . . . no one could take the cup off them.
Lets hope they don't start drafting form their other two codes for 2011.

damian the aussies are never going to stop playing league because they are the undisputed champions at it. No one comes close!!
It would have been good to see the ABs take on the ockers, even though they both lost their QF. Would have probably been the best game of the final rounds by a MILE!
How did the 4 most boring teams in the world make the top 4??!?!
Bring on the Bledisloe Cup 2008!
That is when the real rugby will begin.

There were 4 teams knocked out in the quarter final. What about Scotland and Fiji
The four teams would then have to play a series of games to find 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place

As an England supporter I reckon it would make a great game.Although it`s a bit of an insult two of the greatest rugby nations playing for 7th and 8th place.

Because nobody cares a about the smaller teams that got knocked out in the early rounds would you like to see the match that determines 19 and 20 place aswell.

Why no 7th/8th place playoff? Where do you stop? traditionally in track'n'field there's gold, silver and bronze medals. There's not a "copper" medal for coming in eighth. You either won the whole thing, or you came a close second. Bronze is simply to recognise the team who almost made it. Playing a playoff for 7th/8th place??? Scraping the bottom of the barrel, more like it

waste of time, nobody even really cares about the 3rd and 4th place play off and in reality they didnt deserve another match after going out in the quarter finals, dont think having 5th 6th 7th and 8th place playoffs would prove anything, its too much hassel
